Experienced Full-Stack Developer

Overview

Ocean is a new startup for e-commerce brands that just raised $4.5m from some of Israel's most well-known investors to build a paid membership program that puts brands on even footing with Amazon. We're looking for a standout full-stack developer who is excited to make our ambitious mission a reality, and to join a talented, driven team to build an amazing product from the ground up.

We're looking for someone passionate about creating seamless, delightful user experiences, who turns to AI first when starting any new project, and who relishes the opportunity to have outsized impact on an early-stage company.

As part of your role you will

  • Have a key role in designing, laying the infrastructure, and developing a completely new, exciting, and challenging project from the ground up.
  • Have unlimited opportunities to create massive impact on the product and organization.
  • Have E2E ownership — ideation, design, development, build, release, and monitoring.

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on development experience in software engineering.
  • Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Extensive use of AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate development workflows, debug code, generate boilerplate, and enhance overall engineering productivity. AI tools should be a core part of your daily development process.

Preferred Background

  • Proven experience in startups or dynamic environments.
  • Backend experience with NestJS, including creating scalable APIs, authentication, and efficient data handling.
  • Frontend expertise in React (web) and/or React Native (mobile), capable of delivering high-quality UX/UI.
  • Familiarity with database systems, specifically MySQL (optimization, indexing, schema design).
  • Working knowledge of Redis for caching and performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, SQS, RDS, Eventbridge, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Bitrise and/or GitHub Actions for automated testing, building, and deployment.
